Midlands Tournament 2012: O'Neill and Theodossi rule at Repton

‎40 pairs took part in the 2012 Midland Tournament at Repton over the weekend, an event that is always one of the highlights of the Fives calendar. Uberveteran Nigel Cox narrowly failed in his attempt to make a second final in this competition, 42 years after his first, as he and Seb Cooley were beaten at the semi-final stage by Old Westminsters Ed Rose and Laurie Brock. Ed and Laurie then went on to lose narrowly in a terrific final to Berkhamsted coach/old boy pair Anthony Theodossi and Jeremy O'Neill, Ant winning the title for the second time in three years.

2011 Midlands Tournament: Self & Cooley win in Repton

The Midland Tournament took place at Repton over the weekend with nearly 100 players taking part in a fantastic weekend of Fives, battling it out in the main tournament, the festival, the ladies tournament and a host of plate competitions as well as enjoying dinner at the Stuart Hotel in Derby on Saturday night.

Midlands 2010: Ant and Ryan's Sunday afternoon Repton takeaway

The Midlands tournament took place at Repton over the weekend of 30th/31st October and produced a terrific weekend's Fives. Every game from the quarter-finals onwards in the main tournament was close, with the final eventually being won by Ant Theodossi and Ryan Perrie against Mark Yates and Sid Simmons.

2009 Midlands: Wiseman and Cooley reign at Repton

This year's Midland Tournament took place at Repton on the weekend of October 31st/November 1st. Nearly forty pairs made the pilgrimage to Derbyshire for one of the most sociable and fun events on the Fives calendar. The Fives was pretty good too, with Olavians Howard Wiseman and Seb Cooley coming away with the trophy.

2008 Midlands Tournament

This year's event was bigger and better than last year, as we had over double the entry and over double the number of players, guests and partners at the evening dinner. We had over 40 pairs enter across the weekend with three of the 40 pairs coming from the Rugby Fives community at Derby Moor School which is just up the road - they were most welcome and should be congratulated for their effort.
