2005 Prep Schools' Tournament

Once again our competition played at Eton this term was dominated by some excellent Highgate pairs. The last eight comprised of four Highgate pairs, two from Sunningdale and one each from Ludgrove and Orley Farm. It was good to see Sunningdale back to impressive form. They easily defeated Highgate 4 to reach the semi finals but then were out gunned by Highgate 2 (12-3, 12-6).

2009 Prep Schools' Tournament

The competition returned this year to Eton by kind permission of the Head Master. During the day there was some excellent fives played by 36 pairs representing 9 schools. In the group stages there were two groups which were tightly contested. Cranleigh 1 did well to win their group as did Summer Fields 4 (U12 semi-finalists from Tuesday) who beat Sunningdale 1, a clear upset to the form guide. All four of Highgate's four pairs progressed as well as Ludgrove's and Summer Fields' first pairs.

It was particularly sad that we did not have entries from Berkhamsted this year, however 32 keen and enthusiastic pairs took part in the Prep Schools Competition at Harrow. The weather was testing but failed to hamper the enthusiasm of the competitors.

2003 Prep Schools' Tournament

The Tournament returned to Eton this year where took to the courts. There was as wide a range of standard as ever, but much enjoyment was had by all. It is so good to see boys so obviously improving their game as the day wears on.

2007 Prep Schools' Tournament

It was fitting that in its 40th year the Prep Schools Competition attracted a record number of pairs from a record number of schools. We warmly welcomed pairs from Kingsland Grange, Oakham and Aldenham, all new to the competition. 40 pairs in all took part, from 11 different schools. Many thanks are due to those in charge of fives at their several schools for their enthusiasm and commitment to the game.

The 39th HSBC Tournament was played at Harrow on a cold and gloomy day with 72 contestants taking part; some excellent fives was witnessed though the competition once again was dominated by Highgate.
