Superleague Semi-Finalists Decided

07/07/17: The 2017 Westway Summer Superleague is getting down to the business end, with only four teams left in the competition.

This week's quarter-finals contained a couple of disappointments, as NotOS and Jesters B were unable to raise sides, leaving the way clear for Coach & Horses and Lethal Bizzle to move into the semi-finals without stepping on court. Westway Wonders and Jesters A fought out an exciting draw, but the Westway side had to field a couple of ineligible players, making Jesters A the third side through.

The final match-up saw the Aston House Thoroughbreds see off the dangerous Lancing Lionhearts as the AHT quartet of Laurie Brock, Chris Austin, Spencer Chapman and Karen Hird overcame Will Betts, Mylo Scurr, Joey Prior and Alex Abrahams 5-1. Laurie Brock had a fine evening, hitting five winners in the hole to pull within one shot of Ant Theodossi at the top of the Golden Glove standings, with the third-placed player a further four shots adrift.

The semi-finals take place next week with the Thoroughbreds up against 2015 winners Lethal Bizzle from Highgate and defending champions the Jesters taking on Westway home team Coach & Horses.
