2008/09 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
For the first time this year, we expanded the Keeling Cup to 12 players and three courts for each round. This was a great success and all the games were keenly contested. The starting line up featured four Olavians, three Chomeleians, two Harrovians, two Etonians and an Edwardian - a reasonable proxy for playing strength at the top of the game.
2007/08 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
The Individual Tournament featured 8 players this year with Ross Bryan, Pete Dunbar, Ed Taylor, Dave Mew and Niifio Addy making substitute appearances. Matches were played over 5 rounds at Eton, Harrow and Highgate.
2006/07 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
The Keeling Cup was contested over five rounds at Highgate, Westway and Eton. Unfortunately, due to a mix-up on the final round leaving us with seven players, not all participants played the same number of matches.
2005/06 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
At the time of writing this year's Keeling Cup is still undecided. After 5 rounds Richard Tyler was holding a slim advantage, followed closely by Alex Illingworth and Tom Dunbar and then by Dan Hawkins.
2004/05 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
Many congratulations to Tom and Peter Dunbar who were the runaway winners this year! Congratulations to T and Courtney for sterling performances to carry off the minor honours.
2003/04 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
The Individual Tournament was notable this year both for the number of five game matches and for some results which might seem surprising, even to the seasoned observer.
2002/03 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
The individual Tournament produced some very close matches this year and a nail biting climax at Ludgrove at the end of March. Twelve matches produced no less than three five game matches and a 2-2 draw at Westway when the lights went out! Ed Wass and Richard Tyler were each involved in three out of four of these games and so were forced to work hard for their tournament points.
2001/02 Keeling Cup
Richard Tyler reports:
The Individual Tournament was again played over six rounds at various venues including Eton, Aldenham, Highgate and Ludgrove. I am pleased to say that this year's competition produced some good competitive Fives with the overall result remaining in doubt until the final afternoon at Ludgrove.
2000/01 Keeling Cup
Malcolm Keeling reports:
After last season's rather special millennium tournament, raising funds for charity in memory of Tony Hughes, we reverted to the usual procedure this year, where the players competed just for pride and prizes!
1999/00 Keeling Cup: The Tony Hughes Memorial
Malcolm Keeling reports:
This year's tournament was named 'The Tony Hughes Memorial' and dedicated to the most enthusiastic supporter of the Individual Challenge and quite probably of Eton Fives as well. In over forty rounds (all played in London area) over seven years, Tony never missed one!
