Return To Play Update

12/03/21: We are sure that it will not have escaped your notice that the recently published roadmap out of lockdown has opened up the possibility of once again starting to play Eton Fives.

From 29th March onwards, Step 1 of the roadmap allows Fives courts to reopen: "formally organised outdoor sports – for adults and under 18s – can also restart and will not be subject to the gatherings limits, but should be compliant with guidance issued by national governing bodies."

Step 1 also advises that "People should continue to minimise travel wherever possible" so initially play will be restricted to schools, local club nights and local fixtures and we will not be running any national tournaments; these will resume once we enter Step 3 (not before 17th May), with a provisional timetable sketched out below, assuming that the route out of lockdown goes well. We will also be aiming to provide additional opportunities for "Friendly Fives" gatherings during the course of the summer.

Schools will receive information about the 2021 National Schools' Championships separately.

The previously published EFA Return to Play Guidelines should continue to be followed for the time being; information about which courts will be available to use from March 29th will follow in due course as the EFA continues to work with our centres to enable a sensible and safe return to the courts.

We very much hope that everyone will be able to return safely to the courts during the course of the spring and summer and that we will be able to look forward to a full 2021/22 season starting in September.

We wish everyone continued good health and we look forward to seeing you all back on court before too long.
