WSSL Week Four: Top Three Moving Away
09/06/22: Week Four of the Westway Summer Superleague saw the top three teams move away from the pack at the top of the table as the group stage heads towards a finish.
This year's competition features six teams - Aston House Thoroughbreds, Aston House Stampede, Newbury HA1, Westway Warriors, Emanuel Wanderers and Highgate - battle it out in a round robin format to decide the placings for the play-offs in a couple of weeks time.
Week Four saw wins for the "Big Three" as the two Aston House teams and Highgate jostle for position at the top of the table. The battle is on for the fourth qualifying slot, with Newbury HA1's Will Thomas & Paul Holland producing the performance of the week to gain a valuable point for their team against Highgate.
Chief Stampeder Riki Houlden continues to dominate the MVP race, maintaining his perfect record into Week Four, with Karen Hird of the Thoroughbreds now his nearest challenger after a week off for Adam Field. Adam's absence also allowed Riki to move two shots clear in the Golden Gloves race as he closes in on an unprecedented double.
