K100C has Fives and Tea

10/06/25: On a sunny Sunday afternoon at Charterhouse, thirty members of the Kinnaird 100 Club – limited places still available: donate now while stocks last! – gathered to watch some exhibition Fives followed by a fantastic tea in the beautiful garden of Kinnaird 100 Club Co-Chair, Tom Leach, his wife Paulina, and their son Jan.

At Charterhouse, Harriet Asquith and Alex Abrahams took on Marjolaine Briscoe and Seb Cooley in an entertaining encounter on Court 1, whilst Brigands Rod Smart and Mark Platt lined up against Matt Davis and Kristiana Smilovska in Court 2 next door.

The court next to Court 1, which is one of 6 that have long been used for storage, is being converted back into a Fives court over the summer thanks to a generous donation from EFA board member, Tom Leach, and if the rest are not renumbered it will potentially become the sport’s first Court Zero.

Players and onlookers then drove the short distance to the home of Charterhouse Fives coach Tom Leach, where a delicious tea awaited. The weather gods looked kindly on the event, and guests were able to stroll around the garden in the sunshine to walk off the effects of sandwiches, cream scones and cake, guided by Brigands match manager, Tom Leach.

A day to remember for all concerned and a fitting end to the EFA’s Centenary celebrations. Sincere thanks to Charterhouse parent and donor, Tom Leach, and family for hosting.
