Festive Fives at Wrekin 2012

Wednesday afternoon saw Festive Fives taking place on the recently refurbished courts at Wrekin College. This was the first ever all ladies fixture between Wrekin College and Wolverhampton G.S. and offered an opportunity for everyone to gain valuable court time.

The result was a 3-0 win for the Wolverhampton ladies, but the really winner was the sport of Fives, with all 12 players braving the freezing condition to enjoy a friendly fixture. The Wrekin girls all made success debuts with each pair scoring points, with the closest game at third pair. The match was enhanced by having 'mixed' games after the competitive fixture with the more experienced Wolverhampton girls pairing up with the Wrekin ladies. All bodes well for the ladies game at both schools in the future.
