Ladies Final 2016: Hird & Cooley Win By Default

Sadly, the 2016 ladies final never took place, with challengers Amira Reimer and Phoebe Bracken unavailable to play the final on the scheduled date. Karen Hird and Charlotta Cooley thus retain the title, winning for a fourth consecutive year.

Berkhamsted "Scholars and Rogues" 2016

24/06/16: On Thursday 23rd June we held the 10th annual Scholars & Rogues tournament where there were a number of ‘first time ever’ occurrences. The entry kicked off this trend with a huge 36 pairs taking part breaking our previous record of 30; an incredible stat to see 36 different staff across the 6th, Senior Boys & Girls and Prep school all participating.

EFA Receives £10,000 Sport England Grant


14/06/16: The EFA are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a £10,000 grant from Sport England, an historic first for the sport. The grant is for the period June 2016 to May 2017 and is to help finance the Westway project, contributing significantly to the cost of employing a full-time and a part-time manager/coach at Westway.

North Oxford Go Coast to Coast


13/06/16: The Fives players of North Oxford EFC have a reputation in the world of Eton Fives for taking on daft challenges. Previous follies have included playing all three codes of Fives - Rugby, Eton and Winchester - on their home courts in the same day and playing twelve games on twelve different sets of courts in one day in a loop from Oxford to London and back. This year's adventure was a weekend "Coast to Coast" tour, which started in Colwyn Bay on Saturday morning and finished in Ipswich on Sunday evening, playing games on the most westerly and most easterly (well, nearly) Eton Fives courts in the UK, stopping of course for a game on each set of courts passed on the way.

Berkhamsted and Westway Clinch League Titles

06/05/16: The EFA League season has come to an end with Berkhamsted 1 winning the Division 1 title, finishing well clear of the Old Westminsters 1 in second place. Team Westway completed a Division 2 and 3 double, with TW1 clinching top spot in Division 2 in the final match of the season in what was an incredibly close division this year, and Team Westway 2 winning Division 3 by half a point from the Old Citizens 2.
