Richard Barber Cup: Six of the Best for St.Olave's

10/10/16: St.Olave's won the Richard Barber Cup - the three pair competition for schools with each pair featuring one former and one current pupil - at Eton over the weekend, defeating teams from Highgate, Eton and Cranleigh to retain the crown for the sixth successive year.

12/09/15: Five teams entered the Richard Barber Tournament at Eton on Sunday, which was won once again by St.Olave's. The format of the tournament comprises three old boys and three schoolboys and is always a great chance for the youngsters to be introduced to senior fives.

Sunday 13th of October, venue Eton College, the fourth incarnation of The Richard Barber Cup, the tournament that pitches schoolboys/girls with Old Boys.

2012 Richard Barber Cup: Olave's win the Barber (Part 1)

The Alan Barber Cup has been the blue riband event for Old Boy club Fives for many years; in the last couple of seasons it has been joined by the Richard Barber Cup, also a three pair team event, but with each pair consisting of one current and one former pupil of the schools concerned. The trophy was first played for in the 2010/11 season and returned at Eton on Sunday after a one year hiatus. The finalists this time were the same as two years ago - St.Olave's and Shrewsbury - and the final result also the same, with St.Olave's running out winners, despite Shrewsbury taking a 1-0 lead in all three pairs in the final.

2011 Old Boy/Schoolboy team competition: A successful start

A most encouraging entry for this new competition which aims to unite school and old boy players over 3 pairs comprised: St Olave's (x2), Eton, Harrow, Shrewsbury, Emanuel, Berkhamsted and Ipswich. There was also interest and regrets from: Charterhouse, Highgate, Wolverhampton, King Edward's and City of London.
