2014 Under 25s - Land of Ho and Laurie

15/09/14: The next generation of Fives superstars took centre stage at Eton on Sunday, as the Under 25 tournament got the 2014/15 season off to a flying start. An exciting day's Fives ended with the men's title being won by Laurie Brock and Jonny Ho and the ladies by Phoebe Bracken and Amira Reimer.

2013 Under 25s

A record entry of 29 pairs took part in the Under 25s tournament at Eton on Sunday, with an extremely high standard of Fives across the board. The men were competing for the newly presented John Rimer Cup, with last year's winners back but this time in opposition, Andrew Joyce playing with Berkhamsted teammate Jeremy O’Neill and Laurie Brock teaming up with former Cambridge partner Rob Desmond.

2010/11: Perrie/Joyce and Cooley/Ganguly win the Under 25s

The first trophies of the 2010/11 Fives season were decided at Eton on Sunday 19th September, as the National Under 25 Champions were crowned. A large and high quality field produced some thrilling Fives during the course of the day. The eventual winners in the men's tournament were Ryan Perrie and Andrew Joyce, who beat Rory Griffiths and Matt Mckeever in a fast and skilful final, and the ladies winners were Charlotta Cooley and Anita Ganguly, who beat Dominique Redmond and Emily Scoones in a five game classic.

Despite the freezing cold conditions, the Under 25s Tournament made a comeback this year, with Robert Desmond and Annabel Griffiths doing a sterling job to attract a good number of players to Highgate for the first major competition of 2010.

2005 Under 25 Tournament

The under 25s championships took place again at Westway this year on the day before the Kinnaird final. A relatively small, but enthusiastic field took part and the first round was a group stage with the top four pairs going through to the semi-finals. There were no real surprises as Toop and Sarmah predictably finished bottom and were therefore eliminated from the competition.

This year's under 25s championships were held at the Westway Sports Centre on Sunday 21st December. The entry was larger than it has been for some years, attracting 17 pairs from Berkhamsted School, Old Berkhamstedians, Old Cholmeleians, Old Citizens, Old Edwardians, Old Emanuels, Old Etonians, Old Harrovians, Old Ipswichians, Lancing Old Boys Old Olavians, Old Westminsters, as well as two pairs from Westway who had only begun playing the previous September.
